I have been serving in Sighisoara, Romania since March 2015, and it has been fabulous. My hope and prayer is to continue to serve here for the foreseeable future.
Almost all of my work here has been with Veritas, which is an organization that provides social services, educational programs, and community outreach to the people of Sighisoara and the surrounding areas.
Specifically, I have been working with the children's program (Kids' Club). In this program, I help plan and lead activities to provide holistic care and development to the children who attend.
I also co-lead one of the teen programs (It Takes Courage). My coworker, Adela, and I work with teens to build positive character while having tons of fun at the same time!
I have greatly enjoyed continuing to develop relationships with everyone involved in these programs...and those I come in contact with outside of these programs.
Additionally, I supervise social work students who come to Romania through the Romanian Studies Program. I have thoroughly enjoyed supervising the students who have chosen to study, serve and learn in Sighisoara. We are constantly working to recruit more students and provide them with a life-change opportunity to learn more about social work by doing.

Go. Give. Pray.
In a conversation with a former Veritas volunteer, I was introduced to the idea that people fall into three categories when it comes to missions. These categories are Go, Give, and/or Pray.
I feel that I am currently in the Go and Pray categories, after being in Give and Pray for many years. In which category do you find yourself?
If you are in Pray, I'd ask that you pray for me as I continue my Romanian adventure. Are you in the Give category? If so, I would be honored to receive your gifts through financial support. If you fall under the Go category, I'd love to hear more about your journey!
If you would like to give, I have to start by saying "thank you!". You may click on the "Make a Donation" button to give a one-time gift or a recurring gift in the amount you choose. Donations are tax-deductible.
Feel free to follow my blog for more details on my adventure at http://herlifeinbloom.com! Thank you for your support.
