We have been reporting that a download of the service videos would be available after each service. Unfortunately due to the length of the services and therefore the size of each video clip that is not going to be available as soon as we had hoped.
Please remember that you are able to view each service about half an hour after it is over from the recorded videos section, you just can't download it. That archived video can be started stopped and you can skip around in the timeline, so hopefully this still fulfills most people's needs.
We will continue to try and encode the service videos and make those available in the MediaLibrary, that process is just going to take a lot longer than we had hoped.
Thank you for your patience as we go through these new technology "growing pains".
Where can I go to test my Internet connection and make sure I will be ready to stream General Assembly services live? On the homepage of http://www.nazarenemedialibrary.org/ there is a link that allows you to view a test stream. How do I connect to the actual stream during the event? There will be several web sites that link to the stream; however, the most convenient link to the stream is the homepage of http://www.nazarene.org/.
How quickly will the service videos be archived for viewing following the live event? If the live video stream of the service does not work well for you due to different time zones or services times, an archived file of the live stream will be available within 30 minutes following the service.
How can I download service videos? Archived videos of the services will be available on the site in two formats. A Flash Stream (.flv) will be available for viewing within the Flash player embedded on the site, and a Windows Media file will be available for downloading. Following the General Assembly event, all service videos will be available within the Nazarene MediaLibrary in 5 formats (.mov, .mp4, .mp1, .wmv, .flv) and 3 sizes (100, 50, and 25 percent), just like other videos in the MediaLibrary.
Is there anything special I need to view the services? If you can view the test stream you will be able to view the live service stream. You should have high-speed Internet service as well as Flash installed on your computer. Viewing the test stream in advance will ensure that you are ready to view the live stream.
Will the service order be available ahead of time? Service orders are generally finalized a few days before the service. When they are complete they will be posted in the Nazarene MediaLibrary so churches can prepare to follow along with the proceedings. However, service orders are subject to change. The Sunday morning order of service can be downloaded from the homepage of the MediaLibrary.Following the event, the General Assembly Corporate Worship services, General Assembly Business sessions, Global Celebration services, Convention Business sessions, and selected workshops will be available for download, at no cost, via the NazareneMediaLibrary website. Please contact ga2009@nazarene.org with any questions. *Global Celebrations are combined services hosted by the conventions.
