I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). This is not our mission—it is His. His Church will move forward to accomplish His mission in spite of the current financial challenges.
God will not abandon us in the middle of fulfilling His mission. We believe this is the moment just before Moses held out his staff and the waters were divided; just before David flung the stone and the giant fell; just before Jesus called to Lazarus and a dead man walked out of a tomb.
Our mission has not diminished. The urgent need of our world has not dissipated. Therefore, our commitment to reach our world for Christ is as strong now as it was before these financial setbacks.
We might be tempted to despair if it were not for the generous hearts of the people called Nazarenes. During every financial crisis of the past 100 years, Nazarenes have generously given what has been necessary to keep our missionaries on the field.
